Strawberry teas and a head shave bolster charity’s funds

STAFF at a Devon company raised Pounds 1,300 for Breast Cancer Care by holding a strawberry tea event.
Exmouth financial software developer Digita, part of the Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters, sold cakes, plants, baguettes, pies and pasties.
There was also a prize draw and a guess the weight of the cake competition.
The highlight of the day was a sponsored head shave undergone by Digita sales consultant Ashley Leeds, which alone made over Pounds 850.
Dermot Hamblin, Digita head of sales, said: “We are extremely grateful to all the Digita staff who contributed their time and effort to this fundraising initiative.
“We would also like to thank the various local businesses who supported us on the day.
“These included The Cupcake Dream, Moore’s Pies and Pasties, the Royal Beacon Hotel and Head Masters.”
